/Applications/Hospital and pharmacy dataloggers

For legislative reasons, wholesalers, pharmacies and hospitals must keep a record of the temperature maintained in their fridges, freezers and warehouse storage areas to ensure temperature sensitive medicines, including vaccines and drugs, are kept and distributed within acceptable temperature limits.
There is an overwhelming selection of temperature monitoring devices on the market, ranging from simple Min/Max thermometers to sophisticated web accessible, centralised temperature monitoring and alarm systems. To establish which solution is most suitable, you should create a standard operating procedure, which addresses how you manage your data collection and the resources required to complete the task.
We do not offer Min/Max thermometers because they are reliant on staff performing regular visual checks and documenting the correct temperature data on paper, which is then collated over the course of 12 months for inspection by the MHRA. The cost of these thermometers is not dissimilar to that of a good quality electronic datalogger, which is not prone to user error and enables you to keep your temperature data electronically.
Our solutions are well established in the NHS because we deliver advice, solid service, low capital costs, together with high quality instrumentation that requires minimal computer knowledge and more importantly, minimal time to operate.
Our Technology
1. Electronic temperature datalogger – Semi automated
A simple temperature datalogger needs to combine the automatic collection of temperature data along with the reassurance that recorded data is within acceptable temperature limits. In the event of a temperature excursion, the device needs to clearly display and alarm. This temperature data is then periodically retrieved by a computer and automatically saved for future reference/MHRA audit.
- Ideal for recording temperature in a warehouse, fridge, freezer and cold chain distribution applications
- Temperature datalogger with alarm LED - TRIX8
- Min/Max thermometer including datalogger with LCD display - TRID30
- Pricing example: Standard offering 10 x LogTag TRIX8 dataloggers, 1 x interface and software = £203.25
2. Automatic wireless temperature datalogger
In addition to the functions of a simple datalogger, a wireless datalogger will collect, store and automatically download data from multiple dataloggers placed in fridges, freezers and warehouses and transmit alarm warnings via SMA, email or beacon, in the event a temperature excursion is detected.
- Ideal for large sites containing multiple monitoring locations or remote satellite sites that are managed by a central quality manager (remotely via the internet)
