Datalogger Technologies

Datalogger connectivity

LoggerShop dataloggers utilise the latest technologies for collecting, displaying and accessing your environmental data. We trust the following overview of these technologies will help in the selection of a datalogger that will facilitate the demands of your application.

Because we represent forward thinking companies LoggerShop will always bring you the most sophisticated and cost effective dataloggers and will endeavor to update this page with suggestions on how they can be deployed in the field.

Dataloggers
WiFi
TR71W and TR72W

WiFi networks enable users of dataloggers to set up a cable free datalogging system that can collect environmental data utilising standard I.T peripherals.

Although special care and attention should be paid to the signal strength of your WiFi network at the locations where you propose to install dataloggers our experience is that clients with a competent I.T department have no problems.

Application example: Computer server room
Monitoring and datalogging of temperature and humidity levels to ensure a warning is dispatched should levels rise or drop below levels harmful to the computers. Warnings can be sent via email and data viewed via a secure web portal.

LAN networks will operate in the same fashion as a WiFi network with users installing dataloggers in various locations where data needs to be collected or alarms generated in the event of a problem. However there is no issue with signal strength because these dataloggers are hard wired into an Ethernet port.

Ensure you have sufficient LAN/Ethernet ports to accommodate the number of dataloggers you need to deploy. Also required is a power socket.

With careful thought and consideration but little cost you will be able to deploy a datalogging system that will reach worldwide and present data and alarms at your finger tips.

Application example: Facility monitoring
Monitoring and datalogging the performance of critical machinery and processes in remote or/and numerous locations via voltage, current, pulse, state, temperature, humidity sensors.

USB
UltraShock-EB, TR71U and TR72U

USB is a worldwide standard, purchase a new computer and it will have a number of USB ports for connection to a datalogger via an interface cable or a built-in USB connector. USB will enable you to extract your collected data at unrivalled speeds this factor along with convenience are what makes USB the most popular method of datalogger communications.

LoggerShop enjoys recommending and deploying cost effective solutions but has steered away from offering low quality dataloggers that sacrifice accuracy, resolution and reliability. Ensure the datalogger you select, meets the regulatory requirements of your application.

Application example: Transport
Transportation and Cold chain shipping applications require a cost effective yet reliable datalogging solution, enabling the recipient or sender to access collected data quickly. Time is money so all interactions with appropriate dataloggers should be instant. Shock recorders collect a vast a mount of data, Madgetech's release of the IFC200 USB interface heralds the solution, with download speeds of 38'400bps.

Radio
RTR-51, 52, 52Pt, 53 and RVR-52

Radio dataloggers overcome numerous obstacles presented to our clients when they are looking to deploy a datalogging solution that incorporates the monitoring of numerous points and processes.

LoggerShop are expert suppliers of low powered radio dataloggers with or without external power supplies. Our knowledge will enable you to install and operate a system comprising of sensors, repeaters, receivers, alarms and analysis software that will meet your regulatory requirements including pharmaceutical 21 CFR Part 11 FDA guidelines.

Application example: Pharmaceutical warehouse
There is no place for elapsed time recorder, wires, ethernet ports or power supplies in a warehouse, battery powered dataloggers with transmitters are deployed at locations defined by the results of a temperature mapping exercise and data is collected automatically via a receiver or repeater. You can not use elapsed time recorders in this environment.

Application example: Fridges, freezers, incubators and cold rooms
Install a datalogger in or outside of your equipment. Install outside and you will be able to use the local LCD display to monitor the process parameter in real-time and you not reduce transmission strength that is required to receive a signal via your hand held data collector and/or receiver unit.
